HereAreI
Free beta

A free home for your personal site or portfolio.

Build it in a drag-and-drop editor, or hand-code it with your own HTML, CSS and JavaScript. It lives at yourname.herearei.com, or on a domain you already own, with HTTPS included.

What you get, free

Everything below is included on the free plan. It is the only plan during the beta.

  • Your own address

One site at yourname.herearei.com, served over HTTPS.

  • Editor or hand-built

A drag-and-drop editor with templates, or upload your own HTML, CSS, JavaScript and images. No PHP or other server-side code.

  • Your own domain, free

Point a domain you already own at your site. No charge, and HTTPS is set up automatically.

  • 25 MB for your files

Up to 5 MB per file. Templates and the pages the editor builds do not count.

  • Video and music embeds

YouTube, Vimeo, Google Drive, Dailymotion, Twitch, Spotify, SoundCloud, Bandcamp, Streamable and Google Maps.

  • A contact form

Name, email, subject and message, with the last two yours to show, hide or make optional. Messages land in your inbox and in your dashboard, and replying answers the person who wrote in.

  • 1 GB of traffic a month

If your site goes over, it pauses until the next month. Nothing is deleted.

How to use your own domain

Already own a domain? Connect it to your free site at no cost.

  1. Add the domain to your site in your dashboard.
  2. At the company where you bought the domain, add the two records shown here: an A record for the domain itself pointing to 64.225.88.70, and a CNAME for www pointing to your site’s HereAreI address. Your dashboard also accepts an A record for www with the same IP address.
  3. Wait for the change to spread (usually minutes, sometimes a few hours). Your dashboard shows the exact records for your domain and turns on HTTPS automatically once they are in place.

If the domain already has AAAA (IPv6) records pointing somewhere else, remove them: we serve over IPv4, and browsers try IPv6 first.

Good to know

  • No ads and no tracking. The only cookies we set are the ones that keep you signed in.
  • Free sites show a small “Built with HereAreI” badge on the pages you build in the editor.
  • If nobody signs in or edits a free site for a year, we take it offline, and delete it 30 days after that. We email you at 6 and 11 months first, and inside those 30 days signing in and publishing brings the site back as it was. See the Terms.
  • Support is by email: support@quaal.co.

Coming after the beta: a Premium plan with more storage and traffic, domain registration, and email at your domain. Nothing is for sale during the beta.
